We are very excited to announce this year’s Band Competition Finalists! Every year we have more and more awesome entries, from new up-and-coming bands to established touring bands the field was really, really deep. We appreciate all of your music and encourage those that did not make the final four to come out to support those that did this year and enter again next year.

Band Competition will be held at a NEW TIME this year, Friday, August 10 from 3:00PM – 4:00PM. Come out and support!

Conscious Alliance Returns to Northwest String Summit

Northwest String Summit and Conscious Alliance are teaming up to host an ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drive at this year’s event at Horning’s Hideout on Aug 9-12. All patrons that donate 10 non-perishable food items will receive a FREE limited-edition Horning’s Hideout poster. All food donations will benefit the Oregon Food Bank in Portland.

Conscious Alliance always encourages food donations to be low-sodium and health oriented products. ORGANIC food donations are especially encouraged. RAMEN NOODLES will NOT be accepted for the free poster.

Ninkasi’s Northwest Local Stage @ Cascadia Coffeehouse Lineup Additions!

Centrally located on the festival grounds, Cascadia Coffeehouse and Ninkasi Brewery present the Northwest Local Stage at Cascadia Coffeehouse provide a tranquil setting by the creek for a brief respite from festival life. Featuring the best sustainable, local, and fair-trade products that Northwest Oregon has to offer; Cascadia Coffeehouse serves a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, baked goods, and brunch snacks including local favorites Trailhead coffee and Voodoo Doughnuts. Enjoy these treats down in the hollow while listening to acoustic music from a few of our favorite Northwest regional artists, as well as a few “special guests” who reside outside the region. Anyone who was at Cascadia last year can tell you it’s not a place to miss! Special thanks to our friends at Ninkasi for assisting us in upgrading the area this year!

Northwest String Summit is excited to announce more artists to the Main Stage lineup. Funkin’ it up and adding some horns to mix this year; dance the night away Saturday late night to Strummit first timer’s Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Sure to bring great energy to the stage Jeff Austin & Friends will feature partners in crime that may or may not have been announced yet…more to come on these “Friends”. Back for an encore performance are our good friends Elephant Revival. And with Pete’s full band in tow this year, Pete Kartsounes Band will kick things off for the 6th straight year on Thursday, Aug 9. More on the schedule soon to follow…stay tuned.

Yonder Hall of Fame Celebrated on Main Stage Saturday at 6:00PM

The Yonder Hall of Fame began as a category in the annual year end Yonderpoll, a fan run poll started in 2001 where Kinfolk can vote for their favorite songs and shows of the year. Over the last ten years The Hall of Fame category acknowledged those people who have made important contributions to both the success of the band and to the Kinfolk community. At this years String Summit, the Hall of Fame will be officially acknowledged by the band, and all previous inductees will be honored, including this year’s inductee, the inspirational Lilli Trippe.
